Bald in winter - remember these tips

Bitter cold and warm rain. That's a combination that, just as a thought, resets a busy work week. So put on a hat and let's go! But is it as useful in winter as it is in summer? Yes, but first read how to take care of your lawn in winter and what to do if everything doesn't go as planned.

Using balju in winter is not much different from summer use

In practice, using the stove in winter corresponds to summer use in the sense that the same measures must be taken regardless of the outside temperature. Palju can be used in winter quite normally, but a certain kind of care and caution is needed perhaps more than in summer use.

There is no frost limit for the use of the balju, but in addition to the instructions below, there are a few very practical things to remember, such as protecting your head from the cold with a beanie and the risk of spilled water freezing and the resulting risk of slipping. Fortunately The goodies of the Good Trade Place all are suitable for winter use, as long as the following tips are followed.

Balju heating in winter

The palju is heated in the winter just like in the summer, i.e. first water into the palju and then heating. Heating an empty pan may cause the aluminum heating stove to melt and become unusable. Please also make sure that the water valves of the boiler are closed so that the boiler does not drain slowly during heating.

However, you should reserve about 0,5–1 h more heating time in the summer. Of course, the heating time is greatly affected by whether you fill the tank with warm tap water or whether you take the water from the opening made into the lake. You can also stir the water from time to time, so it heats up evenly. It is definitely worth covering the balju with a protective cover so that the heat does not evaporate during the heating and thus heating the balju in winter can be done in a reasonable amount of time.

Emptying the stubble in winter

You have to be more careful when emptying the stubble in winter than in summer. First of all, you can't leave water in the boiler for a long time after it cools down, because the pipe parts of the boiler and the stove freeze very easily. The pile should be emptied as soon as the fire in the heating stove has gone out and the stove has cooled down. However, before the stove cools down, the stove must not be emptied. You can read about what can happen then here.

In addition, you have to think carefully about where the water in the tank goes. Water laid directly on the ground forms a guaranteed safe skating rink around the ice and causes the danger of slipping. Because in the winter, the water is sown with the same water only once and not water cleaning chemicals need to use, you can put the water either into the opening or use a longer pipe to direct it further away from the yard.

What if the lot freezes?

The stubble can also freeze if it has not been drained properly. If the faucet or outlet hose of the boiler is frozen, the boiler can still be emptied by removing the stove from its place. In this way, the water can be removed through the lower passage of the stove. If the entire stove has had time to freeze, you can try to thaw it either by removing the stove and taking it to a warm place to thaw, or thaw it in place with the help of a heating fan. Sometimes pouring warm water over the fireplace can also help. However, heating must be done carefully, because too fast temperature fluctuations can tear the stove from its joints and make it unusable. For this reason, please also remember not to light a fire in the fireplace if you suspect it is frozen.
